Undergraduate Research Opportunities

You're encouraged to dive into the range of research opportunities available in agriculture and natural resources at the U of A. You'll explore diverse topics that impact our world from analyzing food loss and crop yields to water issues in the West.

How to Find Research Opportunities

The best way to find undergraduate research opportunities is to contact faculty members to share your interest in their research via email or apply to the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC).

  1. If you choose to contact a faculty member directly, include your resume and explanation of your interest to work with them.
  2. UROC offers undergraduates a structured program to earn college credit, a directed research experience and GRE test prep. You're encouraged to connect with your AREC academic advisor for additional information.

Take Your Research Global

In the past, students have studied poverty in Kenya, agribusiness between Mexico and the U.S., and food security in Bangladesh. With opportunities for international fieldwork and partnerships with top programs in Italy, you’ll gain valuable experience that prepares you for a global career. Plus, you'll have access to seminars with leading researchers from around the world.
