Research

Rooted in Arizona, with impact around the world.

Leading agricultural development

We are dedicated to advancing economic knowledge through applied research that benefits our college, university, community, state, nation, and the world. By adhering to the highest quality standards, we ensure that our findings are used to address critical social challenges and are shared with society to create meaningful impact.

Interdisciplinary by nature.

Faculty in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics conduct research, data analysis, and forecasting on local and global agricultural industries, natural resource economics, trade, and development economics in various countries. In support of the University of Arizona’s Land Grant Mission, we also specialize in Arizona agriculture and natural resource economics. Our Cooperative Extension faculty focus on understanding the economic drivers and trends in Arizona that impact local communities.

Growing a sustainable future requires an interdisciplinary approach. Learn how we're bridging disciplinary boundaries to produce purpose-driven science with real-world impact.
